Thermal Imagery Study
A series composed of photographs and videos which explores the traces one’s body leaves behind, in absence of the physical self. The series was created while I was recovering from a car accident that left me disabled for a time. Disconnected from my former life, I began to investigate the state of my body, like a subject under observation. Using a thermal imaging camera, through this work I explored the themes of presence/absence while grieving my altered state. Thermal Imagery Study provides a trace image of the body in transition between its presence and absence as a way to represent the temporality of human life, and the residual imprint we leave behind
