Exploring Wants in End of Life through an Interactive Installation.
Dying.threads was a participatory installation that invited the Toronto public to reflect on death and dying. The installation prompted participants to begin to consider what their end of life experience may look like and what their wants in end of life may be.
Dying.threads prompts the public to explore death and dying by asking the following questions:
- Where do you want to be when you die?
- Who do you want to be with when you die?
- How do you want to be remembered after you die?
Answers were written on small tags, and attached to colourful strings strung between three trees at St.Stephen-In-The-Fields Church, located at the entrance of Kensignton Market in downtown Toronto, ON. Dying.threads resulted in a web of responses that investigated the varied inter-connected values, perspectives and experiences individuals in the Toronto community had on the topic of death and dying.
